چکیده

The dumping of solid waste in uncontrolled landfills can cause significant impacts on the environment and human health. The open dumps formation leachate which contaminated groundwater; use these groundwater reported danger to goal protection is necessary control release migration pollutants from subsurface. In this paper, above-mentioned problems were dealt with case study Ariyamangalam site, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu. dump site receives 71% organic waste. flow transport model was developed using Visual MODFLOW MT3DMS (Version 4.3), subsurface predict plume behavior under different scenarios. conceptual system derived information geology, geo physical hydrology area. total dissolved solids (TDS) taken as a parameter, extent contaminant for next nine years (2014-2022). From model, it found that increase water level by 2.5 m above MSL December 2010 (70.9 MSL) 2022 (73.4 around predicted TDS movement identified towards west south east directions As conclusion, be effectively used studying into system.

Modflow/mt3dms-based Simulation of Variable- Density Groundwater Flow with Simultaneous Heat and Solute Transport

SEAWAT is a finite-difference computer code designed to simulate coupled variabledensity ground water flow and solute transport. This paper describes a new version of SEAWAT that adds the ability to simultaneously model energy and solute transport. This is necessary for simulating the transport of heat and salinity in coastal aquifers for example. This work extends the equation of state for flu...

PHT3D – A MODFLOW/MT3DMS-based reactive multi-component transport model

PHT3D, a three-dimensional, MODFLOW/MT3DMS-based reactive multicomponent transport model is presented. The model couples, via an operator-splitting method, the transport simulator MT3DMS (Zheng and Wang, 1998) and the geochemical package PHREEQC-2 (Parkhurst and Appelo, 1999). Through the flexible, generic nature of PHREEQC-2, PHT3D can handle a broad range of equilibrium and kinetic reactive p...

MODFLOW/MT3DMS Based Modeling Leachate Pollution Transfer in Solid Waste Disposal of Bahar Plain Deep Aquifer

Abstract Background and purpose: This paper presents a case study in simulation of process governing leachate occurrence and subsequent transport, and investigates its migration away from the landfill to control environmental adverse effects on a deep aquifer. Materials and Methods: The landfill examined in this study was an area of 240 ha and received 500 ton/day of solid waste generated fro...

MODFLOW/MT3DMS-based simulation of variable-density ground water flow and transport.

This paper presents an approach for coupling MODFLOW and MT3DMS for the simulation of variable-density ground water flow. MODFLOW routines were modified to solve a variable-density form of the ground water flow equation in which the density terms are calculated using an equation of state and the simulated MT3DMS solute concentrations. Changes to the MODFLOW and MT3DMS input files were kept to a...

Modeling surface water-groundwater interaction with MODFLOW: some considerations.

The accuracy with which MODFLOW simulates surface water-groundwater interaction is examined for connected and disconnected losing streams. We compare the effect of different vertical and horizontal discretization within MODFLOW and also compare MODFLOW simulations with those produced by HydroGeoSphere. HydroGeoSphere is able to simulate both saturated and unsaturated flow, as well as surface wa...
